Not really surprised.  There will always be something new and better.  Was so excited when I bought my panasonic plasma tv.  Well 6 months later the newer model replaced mine.  To top it off LED LCD tvs also debuted at only 1 1/2 inches thick weighing almost nothing, making my plasma feel like a hummer.

Love my Aria and since it has 2.1, I will be happy until its time to renew.  No telling what phone will be out then.

I wonder what this means for any future OS upgrades? (like the one we've all been waiting for)  Sad

Still waiting for the "Official" 2.1

Well, I assume it'll still be released, officially.  Although, if it isn't there are plenty of places to get full instructions on loading the leaked OSs or even ROOTing your phone so you can load other peoples' custom ROM to have other better offerings.
I'm not worried, just looking forward to geeks developing more and better custom ROMs.

Not a huge surprise, this rumor was floating around a while ago so I kinda felt it coming. VZW will obviously still offer support for the Aria but the big question is, will they still release 2.1? I don't know, but as with everything else, I have an opinion.

If VZW does in fact have the update as close to ready as we have heard then I see no reason why they wouldn't release it, they already paid for it. We know from the leak that they have a working 2.1 that just needs a few wrinkles ironed out. Lets just hope that the cash that they spent so far is way more than what it will cost to release and support the update, then it seems logical to do so.

I just hope that since vzw is going to forget about the Aria that the devs will not. Keep those custom ROMs comming!

Original link now not found.  Thread makes little to no sense.
Maybe they meant the Eris?

Everything on this page is copied and pasted from the Eris site.  I know because I had an Eris and used the Droid-Eris site.  That link came out on April 1 as an "April Fools" joke.  Turned out to be fake.
Kinda bogus, I think, that everything is just duplicated.  Not helpful.

I've noticed that there's some of that going on here.  I don't know what to think other than to hope that the mods might be able to curtail some of it.
