So I want to upgrade to the Android 2.2 software; however, I'd like to know how to backup my SMS messages, contacts, photos, and Scenes arrangements.  Oh, and an app I downloaded too.  I believe I should be fine with my contacts because I have stored them to my SIM card so they shouldn't be deleted when upgrading.  Is this correct?  Anyway, any help would be much appreciated as I'd like to upgrade as soon as possible.

All Music, Pictures, and Video are stored on the MicroSD card and will not be deleted during the update process. All applications downloaded from Market are linked to the Gmail account set up on the device and can be restored to the device using that Gmail account. Your contacts can be exported to your sd card and then imported back to phone after update. Go to people> menu> import export unless you are sure they are on your sim already then skip this. As far as your SMS goes there are a couple of apps on the market if you search "back up SMS" but they may require the phone to be rooted not sure never really cared that much about my SMS to worry about backing them up. I don't think there is anyway to back up your scenes. Once you install the update you will not be able to root your phone if that is anything you are intersted in doing in the future. Hope this helps.
