I was wondering 1. can you assign a specific ringtone for a text message notification and 2. can you make your incredible light up for an incoming text?

I work in an office and my phone must be kept on vibrate. My older cell phone would light up when ever I got a new message..

Thanks-
Frank

Welcome!

1) yes, go into Messages, Menu, Settings, set your notification sound. I have a different tone for emails and MMS messages

2) if you find a way let me know! Smiley

I use Handcent and I get a Pop Up each time I get a text. There is a setting where it turns on the screen for the pop up. Don't know if that's what you mean by "light up." Either way, Handcent is a great app.

I have only got it to pop up for text messages. It's a great APP for me. You can even customize your messages and the way they appear. i like it alot. Check it out

Aside from using HandCent, is there any way to change the duration time of the vibrate setting?  I like having my newly received text messages set to vibrate, but the current setting is entirely too short and not strong enough.

Is there anyway to make the vibrate last longer?
