Hello All:

  A questions or two about Google Voice and the Aria....

  I noticed that when editing contacts or adding them, Google Voice creates NEW GROUPS with exsisting contacts....almost like doubles...in fact that is what I am seeing is a new group for each that I had already created before having the Aria.

  Now I have 2 Family, 2 Friends and so on....But when I get a call from lets say a collection agency which before the Aria was set to have it's on personal greeting and go right to voicemail, the Aria rang my phone tonight and that call never even was listed in the Google Voice MISSED section....and no voicemail was left.

  Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong here, do I need to delete the groups I created and let Aria create it's own and go from there, or am I doing something completely wrong, since google voice never even accepted that phone call....

Thanks;
Scott

Ok, as an update, here is what I am trying...

  I deleted the group I created in Google Voice, and also on the Aria. I re-created it on the Aria and brought the contacts into that group and then SYNC-ed it to my CONTACTS and refreshed my Google Voice on the computer.

  The new group was created and I went back in and re-did personal greetings for those contacts. Now I just have to wait and see when a Collection agent calls from any of those numbers to see if it goes right to voicemail as expected and then I have my answer.

  So, it seems that whatever groups you have created on the computer, Aria will not work correctly with those, and therefore you need to REDO them within Eirs and then SYNC back to your Google account for Google Voice to play nice....

  Anyone else seeing this issue?

I think the best solution is to fix whatever you did to make a collection agency call you.

Sorry if I sounded BITTER, it was not meant to be directed to you, but right now the state of Florida has more people out of work than live in Rhode Island. For every job that becomes available, 6.5 people are trying for it...

  So, having Google Voice set up and running correctly at this time...(LAUGHING) is very very important to me....

  I will keep the group up to date if this correction as described above works...which was to create your groups in Aria and then SYNC to your GMAIL or CONTACTS...and NOT TO  CREATE IN GMAIL OR VOICE and then SYNC TO PHONE....

Wish I could help with your issue.  I can't even get my custom greetings to work.  I just keep getting the default.  Grrrr!  Any ideas on how to get the custom greeting(s) to operate.  Please share.  Just got Google Voice last week and was excited about this feature.  And I am not overly happy that people have to get "The Google Voice subscriber", I did not want to advertise I was using Google voice.

FYI - I have searched the GoogleVoice help forum with no fix that has worked for me.
And, Google has not responded.
