I synced my new phone with Facebook, and it brought over all contacts from Facebook with a listed phone number. Fine, but there are a number of contacts I don't want on my phone list (pressing "phone" to make a call from home page). How do I remove them from my "phone" list? When i touch the contact and that little screen comes up with options, "delete" this contact is not an option.

tried logging out of facebook and turning off the phone, but when I turned it back on, all the contacts were still there. Any ideas?

Try going into People, menu, click on the eye (filter) and make sure FB is turned off...

thanks for the reply- I did that but all of my facebook contacts still show up- there are 200 people and their phone numbers in my phone list (not the people file)- and 90% of them are people I'll never call. I would love to get their numbers out of the phone...so if there are any suggestions...thanks

I am in the same boat as you. Its annoying to filter through or go and change the view....there has to be a way that the phone wont sync all your facebook contacts....anyone???

Mine did that when I first got my phone. I ended up removing my Facebook account from the phone and just using the Face book app instead.

I found a better method tonight that gets rid of the Facebook contacts in the people list, while preserving the feed for the Facebook Homepage Widget and the FriendStream.
1. Go to Homepage
2. Menu -> Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> Facebook for HTC Sense
3. Remove Account
4. Add Account -> Facebook for HTC Sense -> Sign In
5. Before the sync is finished, go back to Facebook for HTC Sense. Uncheck the "Sync Contacts" box. The sync will finish just for the "Sync Live Feed".
I found that if I uncheck the "Sync Contacts" without removing the application first, the old Facebook contacts stayed. This way, I'm completely Facebook contact free!

Yes you can do this.... also without having to logg out or uninstalling anything try this.... I did this yesterday becuase I synced my old phone list with facebook list and what I already had and I had 2 or 3 or the same.... so you just go to the individuall person and unlink their facebook info.. also uncheck the sync contacts box like jopatura said.... hope this helps..

I had the same issue and solved it using jopatura's advice. I did like that my People were linked to their facebook profiles with their pictures and all. I just don't want them in my Phone Book. Is there a way to sync to my Friends without them being added to my Phone Book? Or am I asking for the same problem?
