Is there a way to silence the Aria's general notification sound, but keep audible alerts for email (not gmail). As near as I can tell those two share the same configuration.

Thanks.

Try this go to menu>settings >sound under notification sound select notification ringtone there you should see a choice silent select it. Next open your email app open the email account that you want the audible sound for then hit menu>more account settings there you should see select notification ringtone choose your ringtone. This should silence all notifications except your email if you get a notification for another app open the app and then tap menu settings and within the settings you should see the same choice notification ringtone either select silent or there should be another choice default if select this one it will use whatever ringtone you have chosen in the general sound settings. Hope this helps clear things up.

Unfortunately, neither situation seems to obtain. Under menu>settings>sound & display>notification sound, I just get a list of sounds to choose- no option for silence. My only option in settings seems to be to turn off all sounds, which i do not want.

And under the email settings there is only an option for notification sound "on" or "off". There is no list of sounds available that I can see.

Thanks for your help.
