I have read that Android 2.2 will include Flash 10.1 and am wondering... How far behind do you think the updates for the Aria will be due to HTC Sense?

Spoke with a verizon tech the other night. He told me that they (Verizon) had just received an email that HTC was coming out with an update for the Aria, but he did not know when. He said the update should help with the battery life and voice dial.

I have heard rumor of an OTA update (small one) the correct some issues with ActiveSync and the populating of random names in the cc: field. I understand that it will be rolled out on or before May 5th. Should be done automatically.

I think I already got that update a few days ago... battery life seems to be much better (but I also conditioned the battery very well) I think the biggest problem on battery life is the bad signal.... constantly switching between 3g and whatever else drains the hell out of it...
Android system = 31% usage cell standby 24% usage phone idle 18% usage
they say the phone has sonmething like 170 hours standby time... my arse.

Not to sound stupid, but how do you "condition" your phones battery? Thanks

Search the threads...there is a TON of information on battery life and extending it. Happy reading.

These batteries don't have to be conditioned do they? From what I understand/read/been told the newer batteries do not show any change in performance if you "condition" it or not. I was under the impression conditioning was for the older ni-cad and such type batteries.

Conditioning only applies to Ni-cad... The Lith Ion do not require conditioning...

To answer your question where the thread got way off topic lol.. HTC has already made the statement that all of their phones that were/are going to be released this year will recieve Froyo 2.2.. I don't know when but something tells me middle of this year sometime. I think they'll be more on top of it since the EVO is going to be a big cash cow for them this summer.

Among the features coming is Tethering. I just read the original droid has no "wi-fi transmitter". So what about the Aria? I see nothing in the detailed specs showing or stating any kind of "wi-fi transmitter". So is this just a not talked about part of the phone and it will have it? Or is the Aria sol when it comes to Tethering?

In case anybody cares, I just installed the Cyanogen 2.2 froyo updated version as of 8-8-10. It has wi-fi hotspot. Which means: That im on my pc typing this but Im using my wireless card to connect to my Aria to access the internet. Why they didnt put this on there to begin is beyond me, because its pretty bad ass.

From what I see of CyanogenMod 6. It has bluetooth HID support. Which is essential. I at the bare minimum need my headset support. After that it looks like I won't be missing much with this new mod. <rant>At this point I don't trust the AT&T/HTC relationship. Things like not telling the public the difference between ARMv6 and ARMv7 yet pimping Android 2.1 are not making me feel supported. Even google seems to be downplaying the fragmentation that is apparently happening because of hardware. It seems that they've learned nothing from PC's and that it's this exact fragmentation of hardware/software support that has taken down numerous companies(and industries). With Open Source comes Open Standards. Am I supposed to believe that google didn't know? I'm feeling the evil. </rant>
