Seems the Devs have gotten a handle on the rooted part at any rate.

To me it would seem that if you are one who are concerned whether you can get the OFFICIAL 2.1 IF it ever comes out, you could just root your leaked then use this to downgrade to 1.5 to install the OTA. May even be able to root the OTA, who knows? Of course, other than some possible bug fixes, may not be worth the effort. Those guys are MUCH better than I am on this..

You can't downgrade from the leaked 2.1, just the rooted 2.1

I know.. but you in theory COULD root leaked, THEN downgrade right?
Or am I looking at this wrong?

Either way, at least the rooted folks can use it.

You can not downgrade or root the leak. This downgrade is for people whom rooted from 1.5 to 2.1. Once you install the leak you can not do anything else except upgrade once an upgrade is available.

I know.. again.  But again, that's today, tomorrow may be totally different with what a Dev discovers, no? Look at the leak, no root for what? a week? The theory stands till all the Devs say leaked will NEVER be rootable.

Either way, it's still useful info for some people..  Tongue

Now back to figuring out WHY my phones won't register on Verizon.. their techie gave me all the codes and passwords to allow me access, I'll brick my wife's 1st then wait for their 48 hrs... ROFLMAO

why would u want to downgrade anyways? Leaked 2.1 is so sick and im pretty sure when the official update comes out there will be a manual install just like they had for the motorola droid. There is nothing to be worried about. Go ahead and enjoy 2.1 cause its the shit

Downgrade might be useful if you need to send your phone in for warranty issues.
